September Council Meeting Summary and Meeting Notes

The PSMC Governing Council met on Thursday, September 11th, 2014- the meeting notes, where you can find more details about what was discussed at our meeting, are accessible here: Public Agenda and Meeting Notes- Council Meeting 9/11/14

Here is a short summary of the meeting:

• Kim Crossman and Chris Poor made a short presentation on the Meditation Marathon, our upcoming fundraiser on November 1st, explaining some of the changes that have been made for this year, including having it be a 12-hour sit, and introducing the concept of “teams.”
• The Council continued work on planning the center Budget of 2015, bringing in Budget proposals for each of their various spheres.
• The Council approved the start of a process for a review of the Director, to complete our series of reviews (Center Goals, Council, and Director) for this year.
• The Council discussed more on the Prison Dharma program and bringing it into the fold of Center operations.
• The Council discussed the ongoing recruitment of a Finance Director, a key open role on Council, and how to refresh the search to find an interested person.
