Announcing the Appointment of Jack Bodner as Center Chagdzö

The Governing Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Bodner as the Chagdzö (Bursar) of our local center. The Council was unanimous in recommending him for this position, and his appointment has been confirmed by the Chagdzö Kyi Khyap, Connie Brock. He will formally take his seat on Shambhala Day for a three year term of service.

Jack_Bodner_21Jack brings decades of experience and wisdom as a student and practitioner of the Shambhala teachings, and is deeply devoted to the Sakyong, the lineage and the teachings. As well Jack has a background in accounting and held a finance role in Shambhala while living in Boulder, CO. Jack’s presence and skills, and his generous commitment to service will enrich us all.

The Chagdzö (pronounced Chug-zeu), or Bursar, holds a fiduciary role for the Center and sits on the local Governing Council. This role helps to hold the Shambhala view and teachings of wealth and money as path, and fosters the communication of that to the wider community. The Chagdzö  works closely with Shambhala International, and actively participates in all of the leadership duties of a Council member. These responsibilities support the manifestation of the vision of the Sakyong and the overall well being of the community.

The Chagdzö also oversees the earthy aspects of the fiduciary state of the Center: maintaining awareness and reporting to the leadership on our financial well-being and needs; helping craft our annual budget and providing ongoing analysis of Center finances; serving as the supervisor of the Center bookkeeper and volunteers; and interacting with other team leaders and community members around issues of finance.

Please welcome Jack to this position!

Ki Ki! So So!

On behalf of the Center Director and Governing Council,

Corey Adkins

Secretary to the Governing Council
