Personal Meditation Instruction
If you have made a personal connection to the Shambhala Center by attending a weekend or evening class, or regular attendance at our weekly group meditation sessions, and have committed to a regular meditation practice, the Shambhala Center can provide you with a personal Meditation Instructor to meet with on an ongoing basis.
Shambhala Meditation Instructors (MI’s) are senior Shambhala Buddhist practitioners specially trained and authorized to help people deepen and expand her/his experiential and conceptual understanding of meditation. We encourage anyone interested in this path to establish a working relationship with the meditation instructor of her/his choice and keep working with the instructor for as long as doing so feels beneficial.
Depending on a student's interest and experience, ongoing individual meditation
instruction might include:
- Clarifying the view & technique of meditation.
- Instruction on working with obstacles to meditation.
- Guidance for deepening one’s path of practice and study.
- Providing resources and information.
- Guidance on joining meditation and daily life.
