Each year, we welcome the Dralas into the Center by doing some deep cleaning and generally spiffing up the Shambhala Center.  Boxes under desks and accumulations of all sorts are brought into the light!  This year, David Engelbrecht is coordinating our Cleaning Days.    Deep Cleaning  the Shambhala Center goes from the tops of the fans and light fixtures to the library bookshelves to under the rug in the lobby to the kitchen!  It involves picking up a steam cleaner for the carpets, hauling it to the Shambhala Center and returning it afterward!  Gomden and zabuton covers will all be removed, laundered and put back.

But this year it goes a bit deeper.  Due to the success of the fund-raising campaign last fall, the hand-me-down furniture in the office will be donated to the Salvation Army and Abbey Pleviak and Lisa Stanley have a plan to upgrade things by Shambhala Day.  The Monday before Shambhala Day they will go shopping at IKEA. Somehow it will get assembled and unveiled by Shambhala Day on Sunday March 2nd.

We will have mailboxes and cubbies for classes and there is even talk of getting a new printer that will vastly reduce anger and frustration.  A little assist from the phenomenal-technological world to  all meditators who volunteer for tasks that includes printing.Goodbye-fax-printer-meltdown
