there was a small, but enthusiastic gathering for poetry pocket #3.
– robert shared a youtube of lawrence ferlinghetti reading his poem autobiography accompanied by the cellar jazz quintet (san fran 1957). groovier- it doesn’t get!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezav9beakve
– david shared a poem he had heard at a werma gathering: she let go by safire rose. https://safire-rose.com/books-and-media/poetry/she-let-go “…she didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope, she just let go…”
– carol shared, but unfortunately did not sing, snippets of song lyrics including: “dropped in to see what condition my condition is in” [isn’t that what meditation is?], part of john prine’s “the accident” and a few lines from leonard cohen’s well-known song – anthem – “…there’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in…” [that song, of course, is about cohen finally figuring out why he had trouble developing prints in his basement dark room…]
– recently-back-from-nepal marc took us to the streets of kathmandu, where we almost got hit by a scooter
– gardner- shared another granite-chiseled gary snyder poem: piute creek https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/47181/piute-creek
