Sunday Community Practice with Maitri Bhavana
We have lots of opportunities to practice at the Shambhala Center, but we may not connect with each other as much as we’d like. Being part of a practice community is about more than taking our seats in the shrine room. At community-wide Shambhala celebrations we’re reminded that visiting together energizes our individual practice and strengthens our sense of Sangha. In classes and workshops, we find that studying together deepens our practice and opens us up to our lives. So it makes sense to create a regular opportunity to gather as a whole community to practice, socialize and have dharma discussion.
Our bi-monthly Sunday Morning Community Practice consists of group meditation and a dharma talk/discussion, followed by social time (with refreshments)
9:30 – 10:15 AM : Initial Group Meditation Instruction (in the Auxilary Shrine Room)
9:30 – 11:00 AM : Community Meditation with Maitri Bhavana (in Main Shrine Room)
10:15 to 11:00 AM: Follow-Up Individual Meditation Instruction Available (in the Auxilary Shrine Room)
11:00 – 11:30 AM : Teachings and Discussion (Main Shrine Room)
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM : Social Time with Refreshments. Families Warmly Invited.
