Part of the Way of Shambhala: Weekend Retreat 4 of the Shambhala Training Series

Trusting further in basic goodness and daring to experience the sharp edge of reality, we move forward with gentleness, increased awareness, and inquisitiveness about the world, as it is. We find that we can extend ourselves to others fully and with kindness.

Prerequisite: Shambhala Training Level III

Rayna Jacobson

Rayna has been a student of Shambhala since 1976, when she first met Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, and is now a student of Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche. She moved to Portland in 1984, and has been teaching since that time. Currently, she holds the title of Shastri, a position empowered by the Sakyong to guide the local teachers and curriculum. In her professional and personal life, she is a nurse and an acupuncturist, and lives with her husband, dog, and two cats in Northeast Portland.

Marcia Oberg

Marcia Oberg;  After a life changing trip to Tibet in 1995; Marcia found the Shambhala path, which informs her view on mind, and inspires her belief that the awareness that comes from taming our mind allows us to connect more fully with our world. She began working with people in the early 90's as a massage therapist, and one of her massage teachers told her that 'to do good work we must meditate.' She has learned that the posture of the body can support us to open with clarity, curiosity, and confidence to be of benefit to the world.   She was previously the Center Director for the Seattle Shambhala Center.
