Increasingly, we seem to live in a culture of fear, amid threats of terrorism, violence, environmental disasters, and distrust in our leaders. Fear and groundlessness are pervasive, but according to Buddhist teacher Gaylon Ferguson, it is the very potency of this fear that makes it such a powerful tool for personal and cultural transformation. Natural Bravery offers wise and pointed teachings for helping us to look at fear with immediacy and courage, and to engage with it as a path to transform ourselves—and the world. Walking this path, we learn to cultivate fearlessness and to connect more deeply with others and with the natural world.

Together we will read, discuss, and contemplate the book, Natural Bravery, exploring fear, bravery, and fearlessness. Each class will include a period of meditation and contemplation, led by teachers Rayna Jacobson and David Parker.

This class is open to the public and will be facilitated by Shastri Rayna Jacobson and David Parker.

Special discount ($30.00) offered to Meditation Instructors, Shambhala Guides and Course Leaders.

Gaylon Ferguson is a senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist lineage and a professor at Naropa University. He has been leading retreats for 35 years and is the author of Natural Wakefulness: Discovering the Wisdom We Were Born With (2009) and the book we will be studying, Natural Bravery: Fear and Fearlessness as Path to Awakening Society (2012).
