July 20th

Date details +
    Room: Off Site

Please Note: This hike meets on location NOT at the Shambhala Center

Join us for a Drala Hike in Portland’s Tryon Creek, Oregon’s only State Park within a metropolitan area. Observing noble silence, we’ll focus attention on our sensory experience as we hike meditatively in this lovely wooded terrain in SW Portland.

Our hike will include a descent from the Nature Center down to a number of bridges, overlooking the creek, and back again. There are some steep sections of the trail, so please wear appropriate footwear. Note that any recent rains will make for muddy trails.

    Hiking Difficulty: Relatively easy
    Distance: 3 miles round trip
    Elevation: 125 foot elevation gain
What to Bring: Appropriate footwear, water, lunch, a hat, sunscreen, rain gear, gas money for the driver, and a kneeling pad or something else to sit on for occasional stops for sitting meditation.
    Meeting Time: 11:30 AM
Meeting Location: Tryon Creek Nature Center
    Return Time: About 2:30 pm
    Hike Leader: Linda Meretsky

Drala hikes are open to the public. No dogs, please - For questions about this or other
things, please contact Liz Howell, Drala Hike Coordinator.

"By relaxing the mind, you can reconnect with that primordial, original
ground, which is completely pure and simple. Out of that, through the
medium of your perceptions, you can discover magic, or drala."
